Speaking at a high-level reception on Monday to ring in the Chinese New Year, President Xi highlighted the country's resilience and determination in overcoming obstacles.
\"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\" said Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
President Xi noted that China responded with composure to the challenges, implementing a range of comprehensive measures and forging ahead with determination. The reception, held by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to usher in the Year of the Snake beginning on January 29, was attended by over 2,000 people.
Extending Spring Festival greetings, Xi addressed the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region, and overseas Chinese. He acknowledged the collective efforts that contributed to the nation's achievements.
\"Over the past year, China effectively implemented existing policies and proactively introduced a package of incremental policies, which helped promote the recovery of the economy,\" Xi said. He highlighted remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, with new quality productive forces advancing steadily.
The president also emphasized that China's employment and consumer prices remained stable, showcasing the country's economic resilience. As China enters the Year of the Snake, Xi's remarks reflect forward-looking optimism and a call for continued perseverance.
