China Urges U.S. to Expedite Probe into Fatal Potomac River Aircraft Collision

China has urged the United States to expedite its investigation into a collision between a helicopter and a passenger plane that sent both aircraft into the Potomac River near Washington, D.C. The tragic incident, which occurred on Wednesday, has resulted in the loss of all lives on board, with no survivors found.

On Friday, a spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry stated that preliminary verification indicates two Chinese nationals were among those who lost their lives in the crash. \"Following the incident, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in the United States immediately activated the emergency response mechanism,\" the spokesperson said.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called on U.S. authorities to promptly provide updates on the search and rescue efforts and to ensure proper follow-up measures. \"We urge the United States to expedite its probe into the cause of the collision,\" the spokesperson emphasized.

China has pledged to offer necessary assistance to the bereaved families of the deceased Chinese citizens in managing the aftermath. \"Our thoughts are with the families during this difficult time,\" the spokesperson added.
