Chinese President Xi Jinping has praised China's solid progress over the past twelve months, highlighting the nation's resilience and determination in the face of complex and challenging situations. Speaking at a high-level reception on Monday to usher in the Year of the Snake, which begins on January 29, President Xi lauded the country's advancements toward Chinese modernization.
\"In the Year of the Dragon, we demonstrated vitality and a can-do spirit. We endured storms and saw the rainbow,\" Xi remarked. He emphasized that China responded with composure to various challenges, implementing comprehensive measures, overcoming difficulties, and forging ahead with determination.
The reception, held by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council, was attended by over 2,000 people. President Xi extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese people of all ethnic groups, compatriots in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Taiwan region, and overseas Chinese.
Over the past year, China effectively implemented existing policies and proactively introduced a package of incremental measures that promoted economic recovery. \"We achieved remarkable progress in technological and industrial innovation, with new quality productive forces forging ahead steadily,\" Xi stated. He also noted that employment and consumer prices remained stable throughout the year.
