According to data from China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during the recent seven-day National Day Holiday, an impressive 765 million trips were taken across the country. This figure represents a 5.9 percent increase from the previous year and a 10.2 percent rise compared to 2019, before the pandemic. Tourism revenues reached a staggering 701 billion yuan ($99.2 billion), marking a 6.3 percent growth over 2019.

Amid this surge, Chinese culture is captivating more tourists than ever. With a history spanning thousands of years, China's diverse regions boast unique local and historical cultures. The vast territory means that even for Chinese residents, visiting different provinces can offer entirely new cultural experiences.

For instance, the historical sites and heritage of Beijing attract tourists from southern provinces like Fujian, Guangdong, and Hainan. Conversely, the Fujian Tulou—traditional rural dwellings unique to the Hakka people in Fujian Province—provide an intriguing cultural experience for visitors from other parts of China.

Businesses and local governments aiming to boost their local tourism markets are tapping into these cultural treasures. By highlighting aspects such as historical heritage, traditional architecture, cultural attire, and regional cuisine, they are enriching their tourism products and drawing more visitors.

The integration of new media is also playing a pivotal role in promoting tourism. Through social media platforms and digital marketing strategies, destinations showcase their unique cultural elements to a broader audience, both domestically and internationally.
