China Advances to Both Team Semifinals at Asian Table Tennis Championships

China's table tennis teams have secured their spots in both the men's and women's team semifinals at the Asian Table Tennis Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan. The men's team overcame a surprising challenge from Iran to win 3-1 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

In a shocking turn of events, China's world No. 1 Wang Chuqin suffered a defeat to 14-year-old Iranian prodigy Benyamin Faraji in the opening match. Wang trailed from the beginning of the first game, and despite narrowing the gap to one point, Faraji clinched the game 11-8.

Wang appeared to regain control by taking the next two games 11-3 and 11-9, and started the fourth game with a promising 4-1 lead. However, Faraji mounted an impressive comeback, winning the fourth game 13-11 and leveling the match at 2-2.
