As the joyous Spring Festival approaches, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front. The warm wishes were shared during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. During the event, Xi Jinping, who also serves as Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, emphasized the need for more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the importance of focusing on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

Xi underscored the critical importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

\"We hope that you will mobilize all positive forces to advance development,\" Xi stated, urging active contributions to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

He also stressed the need to address critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. Xi highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector to maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering reflects the importance of unity and collaboration among all sectors of society as China strides toward its development goals. As the nation prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival, the call for collective effort and shared progress resonates across the country.
