Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Boost China-U.S. Relations

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of continued economic collaboration between the two nations. Han expressed hope that U.S. companies would continue to invest and establish themselves in the Chinese mainland, playing an active role in fostering stable and sustainable China-U.S. relations.

During the meeting in Washington D.C., Han engaged with leaders from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He highlighted the recent phone conversation between President Xi Jinping and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, noting that they reached significant common understandings on the future development of China-U.S. relations.

\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han stated. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serves the common well-being of the peoples of both countries and meets the expectations of the international community.\"

Han acknowledged the vital role of the U.S. business community as a \"participant, witness, contributor, and beneficiary\" of China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation, as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts. He assured that China remains committed to advancing its reform and opening-up initiatives and will continue to improve its business environment.

Representatives from the U.S. business community responded positively, expressing optimism about China's economic prospects and development opportunities. They underscored the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation and the pursuit of a constructive and stable relationship between the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies.

\"The recent phone conversation between President-elect Trump and President Xi sent a positive, encouraging message,\" the representatives said. \"We support strengthening U.S.-China dialogue and communication to continue advancing bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.\"

Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday. He welcomed U.S. companies like Tesla to seize the opportunities presented by China's development. \"We invite U.S. enterprises to share in the fruits of China's growth and make greater contributions to promoting China-U.S. economic and trade relations,\" Han remarked.

Musk expressed enthusiasm for deepening investment and cooperation with China, committing to play an active role in fostering economic exchanges between the two nations.
