Xi Jinping’s Liaoning Visit Highlights Flood Recovery and Community Development

Chinese President Xi Jinping recently visited Liaoning Province in northeast China, marking his first domestic inspection in 2025. The visit focused on disaster recovery efforts, urban renewal projects, and industrial advancement, reflecting his continued commitment to improving the well-being of the Chinese people.

On January 22, President Xi traveled to Zhujiagou Village in Huludao, one of the areas hardest hit by unprecedented torrential downpours in 2024. The village has since been rebuilt, with new homes constructed for affected families on higher ground. In less than two months, nearly 200 people displaced by the disaster were provided with new homes before the onset of winter.

During his visit, Xi inspected the progress of post-disaster restoration, visiting the homes of relocated villagers and inquiring about the quality of their new accommodations and daily life provisions. His personal engagement underscores the \"people-first\" philosophy of the Chinese government and its commitment to enhancing the sense of security among its citizens.

On January 23, Xi visited the Chang'an community in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province, to observe how public services are being optimized to improve residents' quality of life. Since 2023, the community has been renovating old residential areas. All 13 residential buildings and public areas have been upgraded, and initiatives promoting employment, education, health services, and elderly care have been launched.

President Xi also toured a cold rolling mill of the Bensteel Group in Benxi to gain insights into the company's efforts to accelerate transformation and promote high-quality development. His visit highlights the emphasis on industrial advancement and economic growth in the region.
