Firefighters Prepare Meals for Quake-Affected Villagers in Xizang

It has been more than a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. Resettlement and reconstruction efforts are still underway.

Amid the aftermath, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have stepped up to provide not only emergency assistance but also daily necessities to the affected communities.

At Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, Dingri County, our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, joined these dedicated firefighters as they prepared lunch for the villagers.

The aroma of home-cooked meals filled the air as villagers gathered around. For many, this was the first hot meal they had enjoyed since the earthquake struck, bringing a sense of warmth and normalcy in a time of uncertainty.

The firefighters expressed their commitment to supporting the villagers in rebuilding their lives, emphasizing that preparing meals is just a small part of their efforts to assist the community.

They worked tirelessly, chopping vegetables, stirring pots, and serving meals with smiles. Their compassion and dedication have brought hope and comfort to the villagers during this challenging time.

As resettlement and reconstruction continue in Dingri County, the efforts of these firefighters exemplify the spirit of unity and resilience, reminding us all of the importance of coming together in the face of adversity.
