China Affirms Open Communication with EU on Intellectual Property Issues

China's Ministry of Commerce declared on Monday that channels of communication with the European Union (EU) on intellectual property issues are always open, signaling a willingness to engage amid recent developments.

This statement follows the EU's filing of a complaint at the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Monday, challenging China's judicial rulings on standard essential patent disputes.

The ministry confirmed that China received a consultation request from the EU on January 20. In an online statement responding to media inquiries, the ministry emphasized China's strict adherence to WTO rules and its accession commitments.

\\"China has continuously improved legislation and law enforcement related to the protection of intellectual property rights, and its achievements have been widely recognized,\\" the ministry stated.

The ministry added that the country will address subsequent matters in accordance with WTO rules and is determined to firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
