Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for enhanced strategic cooperation and mutual trust between China and Vietnam, aiming to build a community with a shared future of strategic significance. The remarks came during exchanges with Vietnamese leaders marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In messages exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the profound friendship and shared socialist ideals between the two nations.

\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future carrying strategic significance,\" Xi said. He highlighted that both countries have supported each other over the past 75 years, fighting side by side for national independence and liberation.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi noted that both sides have pledged to elevate their relations to a new stage, working together toward socialist modernization and delivering greater benefits to their peoples.

Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi stressed the importance of China and Vietnam continuing on the path of socialism, which he said is significant not only for their own futures but also for peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.

Xi expressed his readiness to work with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust, strengthen practical cooperation, and make new strides in building the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

The communications between the leaders coincide with the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges, offering an opportunity to further enhance bilateral relations and contribute to the progress of the global socialist cause.
