Firefighters Prepare Lunch for Quake-Affected Villagers in Xizang’s Dingri County

More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, acts of kindness and solidarity have become the cornerstone of the community's recovery.

In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, the firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have gone beyond their call of duty. They have been preparing lunch for the villagers, ensuring that everyone is nourished during these challenging times.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the frontline to observe the firefighters as they cooked meals and provided support to the community. The sight of firefighters in their uniforms, stirring pots over open flames amidst the backdrop of the mountainous region, is a poignant reminder of the dedication of these first responders.

The villagers of Cuo'ang have expressed deep appreciation for the assistance. The firefighters' efforts not only provide physical sustenance but also uplift the spirits of those affected by the earthquake.

As reconstruction efforts proceed, the cooperation between the firefighters and the villagers exemplifies the resilience and unity that define the region. Together, they are working towards rebuilding their homes and restoring normalcy to their lives.
