In a video meeting on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between their two countries to address uncertainties in the global landscape.
President Xi emphasized that he is ready to work with President Putin in 2025 to guide China-Russia relations to new heights. He highlighted that strengthening the stability and resilience of their bilateral ties would help both nations cope with external uncertainties, promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\\" Xi stated, calling for the consolidation and expansion of bilateral relations and the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
President Putin echoed these sentiments, noting that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating one another as equals. \\"Cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\\" Putin added.
During their discussion, the leaders also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
