American Engineer Optimistic About Future of China-U.S. Relations

On January 20, U.S. President Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. Eric Chow, a software engineer from the U.S., shared his thoughts with CGTN on the future of China-U.S. relations over the next four years.

Despite existing tensions between China and the United States, Chow remains cautiously optimistic. \"I believe that, even with the challenges we face, there's a great opportunity for our two countries to work together,\" he said. \"Strengthening cooperation can make the world a better place.\"

Chow emphasized the importance of collaboration in areas such as technology, trade, and global issues. He hopes that both nations can set aside differences and focus on mutual benefits. \"As a software engineer, I see the potential for innovation when we combine our strengths,\" he added.

As the new administration begins its term, many like Chow are watching closely, hopeful that positive steps will be taken to enhance the bilateral relationship between the two global powers.
