President Xi Jinping Visits Liaoning Province Ahead of Spring Festival

President Xi Jinping, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, embarked on an inspection tour of northeast China's Liaoning Province ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, one of the most significant traditional celebrations in China.

On Thursday, President Xi visited a cold rolling mill at Bensteel Group in the city of Benxi. During his visit, he underscored the importance of the steel industry as a vital foundational sector for the country. He emphasized that the real economy serves as the bedrock of the national economy, highlighting the critical role that manufacturing and industry play in China's development.

Earlier in the day, President Xi stopped by a bustling food market in Shenyang, the provincial capital of Liaoning. Walking among vendors and shoppers, he checked on the market's supply and prices during the festive season. His visit aimed to ensure that residents have ample provisions and to convey his care for the well-being of the people during the holidays.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year, is a time when families across the nation gather to celebrate and usher in the new year according to the lunar calendar. President Xi's visit to Liaoning Province reflects his commitment to supporting key industries and ensuring the livelihoods of the Chinese people during this important time.
