Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to work alongside Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation between the two nations. In a message exchanged on Saturday to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic significance.
Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed his sentiments in congratulatory messages exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong.
\"China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He reflected on the long-standing relationship between the two countries, noting that since establishing diplomatic ties 75 years ago, China and Vietnam have \"fought side by side and supported each other\" in their struggles for national independence and liberation.
\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi added, highlighting the close bonds formed between the two parties and countries. He emphasized that the two sides have learned from each other in advancing socialism and have forged ahead hand in hand, deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi mentioned that both countries pledged to work towards building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance, elevating their relations to a new stage.
Amid unprecedented global changes, Xi underscored the importance of China and Vietnam continuing to \"follow in good faith the path of socialism,\" which he believes has a bearing on the future of both nations and the global socialist cause. This cooperation is of great significance to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
