President Xi Jinping Visits Troops, Extends Spring Festival Greetings

In a show of solidarity and festive spirit, President Xi Jinping visited the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command on Friday, ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

President Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), extended warm greetings on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC to all service personnel of the PLA and the People's Armed Police Force. He also acknowledged the contributions of civilian personnel in the military, militia members, and reserve forces.

The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. Anticipation is high as families across China prepare for the most significant holiday in the Chinese calendar.

During his visit on Friday morning, President Xi met with officers and soldiers of the Northern Theater Command. He later connected via video link with representatives from various military units across the country. Each unit briefed the president on their combat readiness and mission execution status.

Commending their efforts, President Xi emphasized the importance of maintaining high levels of preparedness. He urged the troops to bolster their combat readiness to effectively respond to any emergencies, ensuring national security and social stability during the festive period.

President Xi's visit underscores the significance of the military's role in safeguarding the nation, especially during times of celebration when attention may be diverted. His engagement with the troops reflects a commitment to national defense and the well-being of service personnel.
