Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Relations

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties between China and the United States. Han expressed hope that U.S. companies will continue to invest and establish themselves in China, serving as bridges to promote steady, sound, and sustainable development of bilateral relations.

During the meeting in Washington D.C., Han noted that President Xi Jinping and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump recently reached important common understandings regarding the future development of China-U.S. relations during a phone call. He highlighted the broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation between the two nations, stating that a positive start and steady growth of bilateral relations serve the well-being of both peoples and meet international expectations.

Han acknowledged the significant role of the U.S. business community as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation. \"The U.S. business community has always been the backbone of China-U.S. relations,\" he said, calling on them to continue playing an active role in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation.

He assured that China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up efforts, continuing to improve its business environment for foreign investors. \"We welcome U.S. companies to seize the opportunity to share in the fruits of China's development,\" Han stated.

Representatives from organizations such as the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce attended the meeting. They expressed optimism about China's economic prospects and development opportunities, noting that the recent phone conversation between Trump and Xi sent a positive and encouraging message. They emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation and finding a constructive and stable way for the two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies to coexist.

On the same day, Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed Tesla's deepening investment and cooperation with China, highlighting the company's active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the two nations. Musk expressed readiness to further expand Tesla's presence in China and contribute to the enhancement of U.S.-China economic ties.
