President Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to China’s Servicemen

As the Spring Festival approaches, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command on Friday to extend his festive greetings to servicemen and women across the nation.

President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), met with officers and soldiers, acknowledging their dedication and commitment to safeguarding the country.

During his visit, President Xi spoke with representatives of troops across the military via video link. The servicemen briefed him on their combat readiness and mission execution status. Impressed by their reports, Xi expressed his full appreciation for their hard work and urged them to maintain a high level of preparedness.

\"The troops should bolster the enforcement of their combat readiness duties to effectively respond to any emergencies,\" Xi emphasized. \"It is vital to safeguard national security and social stability during the holidays.\"

On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC, President Xi extended festive greetings to the service personnel of the PLA, the People's Armed Police Force, civilian personnel in the military, and members of the militia and reserve forces.

The Spring Festival, marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. It is a time of family reunions and cultural celebrations, but also a period when the military's vigilance remains crucial.

President Xi's visit underscores the importance of national defense during significant cultural festivities, reinforcing the message that the security and stability of the nation are paramount.
