Xi Jinping Calls for Stronger China-Vietnam Ties on 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to strengthening ties with Vietnam, aiming to build a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

In messages exchanged on Saturday with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi emphasized the importance of deepening strategic mutual trust and enhancing practical cooperation between the two nations.

\"China and Vietnam, two friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He highlighted the profound friendship forged over the past 75 years, noting that the two countries have \"fought side by side and supported each other\" in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to elevate their relationship by working towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment, he said, has moved the relations between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

As the world undergoes unprecedented changes, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's adherence to the path of socialism has significant implications not only for the future of both nations but also for the global socialist cause. \"Continuing to follow in good faith the path of socialism is of great significance to the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world at large,\" he remarked.

Looking ahead, Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to capitalize on the milestone anniversary and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for both countries to \"keep in mind the original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization,\" aiming to deliver greater benefits to their peoples and contribute to global development and progress.

The exchange between the leaders underscores the enduring partnership between China and Vietnam, rooted in shared ideals and mutual support. As both nations navigate the complexities of the modern world, their commitment to deepening ties and fostering cooperation signals a continued dedication to regional stability and prosperity.
