During the meeting, Han highlighted the significant common interests shared by the two nations and the vast potential for cooperation. He noted that President Xi and President-elect Trump recently reached important understandings on developing China-U.S. relations during a phone conversation.
\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han said. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serve the common well-being of the peoples of our two countries and meet the expectations of the international community.\"
Han praised the U.S. business community as a backbone of China-U.S. relations, acknowledging their role as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts. He expressed hope that U.S. companies would continue to invest and take root in China, playing an active role in promoting stable and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
\"China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up efforts and continue to improve its business environment,\" Han assured the business leaders.
Representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce welcomed Han's remarks.
