Xi Jinping Seeks Stronger China-Vietnam Partnership for Shared Future

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam, Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to strengthening the partnership between the two nations. In messages exchanged with Vietnamese leaders, President Xi emphasized the importance of deepening strategic mutual trust and enhancing practical cooperation to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

President Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, communicated with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He reflected on the profound friendship that has developed over the past 75 years, noting that China and Vietnam are \"comrades and brothers\" who have fought side by side for national independence and liberation.

\"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, our countries have supported each other, advancing socialism and deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation,\" President Xi stated. He highlighted that sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of the relationship between the two parties and nations.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, President Xi mentioned that both sides pledged to elevate their relations to a new stage, working towards a community with strategic significance. He underscored that in the face of unprecedented global changes, continued adherence to the path of socialism by both countries is crucial for their futures and the global socialist cause.

President Xi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders during the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He emphasized the importance of staying true to their original mission and forging ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization. This cooperation aims to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both nations and contribute significantly to regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
