It has been over a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. The earthquake left many villagers displaced and in need of assistance.
Amid ongoing resettlement and reconstruction efforts, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have stepped up to support the local community.
In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, Dingri County, our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, witnessed firefighters preparing lunch for the affected villagers. The aroma of freshly cooked food mingled with the chilly mountain air, bringing warmth and comfort to those who have lost their homes.
The firefighters worked efficiently, chopping vegetables, stirring large pots, and serving meals with smiles. \"We want to do everything we can to help the villagers recover,\" said one of the firefighters. \"A hot meal can lift spirits and restore hope.\"
The collaborative efforts between emergency responders and local residents showcase the resilience and solidarity of the people in Xizang as they rebuild their lives after the disaster.
