President Xi emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient China-Russia relationship in coping with external challenges. \"I am ready to work with President Putin to guide China-Russia relations towards greater heights, to cope with uncertainties in the external environment with the stability and resilience of China-Russia relations, jointly promote the development and revitalization of our two countries, and uphold international fairness and justice,\" Xi stated.
He called for deepening strategic cooperation, strengthening mutual support, and safeguarding the legitimate interests of both nations. Xi also urged both countries to consolidate and expand bilateral relations and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
President Putin, in his remarks, highlighted the long-standing trust and support between Russia and China. \"Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other and treated each other as equals,\" Putin said. He noted that cooperation between the two countries serves the interests of their peoples and will not be impacted by changes in the international situation.
During the meeting, the two leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
