China Emphasizes Mutual Benefits in Trade Relations with U.S.

China has reaffirmed that economic and trade cooperation with the United States is mutually beneficial, emphasizing that it does not intentionally pursue a trade surplus. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two nations.

\"Despite differences and frictions between China and the United States, the common interests and cooperation potential are substantial,\" Mao Ning stated. \"Both sides can enhance dialogue and consultation in this regard.\"

Her remarks came in response to U.S. calls for a fairer trade relationship with China. Addressing concerns over tariffs, Mao Ning cautioned against the ramifications of trade conflicts.

\"There are no winners in a trade war or a tariff battle,\" she noted. \"Such a conflict does not serve the interests of any party and is not conducive to the global economy.\"

Mao Ning's comments underscore China's stance on fostering a cooperative approach to economic relations with the U.S., stressing that mutual understanding and negotiation are key to resolving trade issues.
