Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reaffirmed the strength of China-Russia ties during a video meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of their relationship in addressing global uncertainties.
President Xi expressed his readiness to work with President Putin in 2025 to continue guiding China-Russia relations towards greater heights. He emphasized that a stable and resilient relationship between the two nations would help cope with uncertainties in the external environment, jointly promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi said.
President Putin noted that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. He stated that cooperation between the two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation.
During the video meeting, the two leaders also had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
