It's a significant moment for China-U.S. relations as Chinese Vice President Han Zheng meets with key figures from the U.S. business community in Washington D.C. on Sunday. With the backdrop of an impending new administration in the United States, Han's visit aims to strengthen economic ties and foster mutual understanding between the two global powers.

Han, serving as Chinese President Xi Jinping's special representative, is in Washington D.C. to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday. His meetings included discussions with representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, signaling China's commitment to deepening economic cooperation.

\"China hopes that U.S. companies will continue to invest and take root in China,\" Han remarked. \"We encourage you to play an active role as a bridge and make greater contributions to the steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.\"

He emphasized the recent phone conversation between President Xi and President-elect Trump, noting that they reached important common understandings on the future development of bilateral relations. Han highlighted that China and the United States share broad common interests and possess vast potential for cooperation.

\"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and keeping it growing steadily serves the common well-being of the peoples of our two countries,\" Han stated. \"It also meets the expectations of the international community.\"

Han acknowledged the pivotal role of the U.S. business community in China-U.S. relations, calling them participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, as well as China's reform and opening-up efforts.

He assured that China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up initiatives and continue to improve its business environment.

Representatives of the U.S. business community expressed optimism following the encouraging message from the recent phone conversation between President Xi and President-elect Trump. They underscored the importance of pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation and working towards a constructive and stable coexistence between the two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies.

Musk expressed his eagerness to deepen Tesla's investment and cooperation with China, stating that the company is ready to play an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the U.S. and China.
