Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages at Annual Gathering

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC personages ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival. The event took place on Monday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, bringing together members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

In his address, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the nation's focus on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.

\"We must achieve the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan and lay a solid foundation for the next five years,\" Xi stated. He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to focus on central tasks, serve the country's overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Xi urged these groups to mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He also encouraged the ACFIC to guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year. The annual gathering serves as a significant event for fostering unity and collaboration among various political and social groups in China.
