Chinese Vice President Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Ties

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with leading U.S. business executives on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties and promoting sustainable development between China and the United States. Han's visit to Washington D.C. comes ahead of attending the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday, where he will represent Chinese President Xi Jinping as a special envoy.

During discussions with representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Han expressed China's commitment to fostering a favorable business environment. \"We hope that U.S. companies will continue to invest and take root in China, acting as a bridge to enhance mutual understanding and contribute to the steady and sound development of China-U.S. relations,\" Han stated.

Highlighting the recent positive communications between President Xi and President-elect Trump, Han underscored the vast potential for cooperation between the two nations. \"Getting the bilateral relationship off to a good start and maintaining steady growth serves the common well-being of our peoples and meets the expectations of the international community,\" he noted.

U.S. business leaders expressed optimism about China's economic prospects and the opportunities it presents. They acknowledged the encouraging message sent by the recent phone conversation between the two presidents, emphasizing the need for mutually beneficial cooperation. \"As the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the U.S. and China should work towards a constructive and stable coexistence,\" they agreed.

The representatives affirmed their support for strengthening dialogue and communication to advance bilateral relations and economic cooperation. They see themselves as not only participants but also beneficiaries of China's reform and opening-up initiatives.

In a separate meeting, Han Zheng met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed further investment from Tesla and other U.S. companies, inviting them to share in the fruits of China's development. Musk expressed eagerness to deepen Tesla's investment and cooperation in China, aiming to play an active role in promoting economic exchanges between the two countries.
