Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Strengthen China-U.S. Ties in Washington

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with prominent U.S. business leaders in Washington D.C. on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation and investment between China and the United States to foster stable and sustainable bilateral relations.

Han Zheng, serving as President Xi Jinping's special representative, is in Washington to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday. During his meeting with representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Han underscored China's commitment to reform and opening-up, inviting American companies to invest and \"take root\" in China.

\"U.S. companies have always been the backbone of China-U.S. relations,\" Han stated. \"We hope they will continue to play an active role as a bridge between our two nations and contribute to the steady, sound, and sustainable development of our bilateral relationship.\"

Han highlighted the recent phone conversation between President Xi Jinping and President-elect Donald Trump, noting that they reached important common understandings regarding the future of China-U.S. relations. He stressed that cooperation between the two countries serves the common well-being of their peoples and meets the expectations of the international community.

Representatives of the U.S. business community expressed optimism about China's economic prospects and development opportunities. They welcomed the positive signals from the recent dialogue between the two leaders and voiced support for strengthening U.S.-China communication to advance bilateral relations and economic cooperation.

\"As the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the United States and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation and work toward a constructive and stable coexistence,\" one representative remarked.

In addition to meeting with business leaders, Han Zheng also held talks with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed Tesla's deepening investment and cooperation in China, encouraging the company to \"seize the opportunity to share in the fruits of China's development\" and contribute to promoting economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Elon Musk expressed enthusiasm for expanding Tesla's presence in China, stating that the company is ready to play an active role in fostering economic and trade exchanges between the United States and China.
