Xi Jinping Calls for Unity and High-Quality Development Ahead of Spring Festival

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

During the annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year on January 29.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration, Xi urged non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to focus on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He highlighted their unique strengths in rallying broader support, building consensus, and pooling wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation's development.

\"We will implement more proactive and impactful macro policies, focus on high-quality development, and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025,\" Xi said.

He underscored the significance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. Xi called for mobilizing all positive forces to advance development, deepen reform, and contribute to the formulation of proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical challenges in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He also emphasized that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolstering confidence in development, and establishing modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

As China ushers in the Year of the Rabbit, Xi's address reinforces the nation's commitment to unity, innovation, and sustainable growth.
