It has been over a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. Amid ongoing resettlement and reconstruction efforts, the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit has been providing crucial support to affected communities.
In Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, the firefighters have gone beyond their duties by preparing meals for villagers displaced by the earthquake. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the frontline to witness the heartfelt efforts of these firefighters as they cook lunch for the quake-affected residents.
\"Ensuring the well-being of the villagers is our top priority,\" said a firefighter from the unit. \"By preparing meals, we hope to provide some comfort during this challenging time.\"
The camaraderie between the firefighters and villagers is evident as they share meals and stories, strengthening community bonds in the face of adversity. The collaborative efforts showcase the resilience and unity of the people in Xizang as they work together towards recovery.
Reconstruction and resettlement continue to progress, with local authorities and volunteers joining hands to restore normalcy. The selfless actions of the firefighters exemplify the spirit of solidarity that is helping the region heal.
