More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. The aftermath has left many villagers in Cuo'ang Village, Quluo Town, facing the challenges of resettlement and reconstruction.
Amidst the ongoing efforts, the firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have stepped up to support the local community. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the frontline where these dedicated firefighters are not only aiding in reconstruction but also bringing comfort to the villagers by preparing warm meals.
In the temporary settlement areas, the aroma of freshly cooked food fills the air. The firefighters work tirelessly, chopping vegetables, stirring pots, and ensuring everyone receives a hearty lunch. Their actions have provided much-needed relief and have lifted the spirits of those affected by the quake.
Villagers express deep gratitude for the support. \"The firefighters have been a beacon of hope for us,\" says one resident. \"Their presence reassures us that we are not alone in this difficult time.\"
Resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue as the community comes together to rebuild. The collaborative spirit between the villagers and the firefighting unit exemplifies the resilience and unity of the people in the face of adversity.
