In a virtual meeting on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between China and Russia amid global uncertainties.
President Xi emphasized that a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia will help address uncertainties in the external world. He expressed his readiness to work with President Putin in 2025 to guide China-Russia relations towards greater heights, jointly promoting development and revitalization for both countries, and upholding international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi added.
Xi also called on China and Russia to consolidate and expand bilateral relations and promote the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
President Putin stated that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. He emphasized that cooperation between the two nations serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation.
During the video meeting, the two heads of state also had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
