In a gesture of unity and goodwill ahead of the Spring Festival, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

On Monday, Xi, who is also Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his greetings during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, falls on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macro policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. Xi urged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Xi underscored the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) by 2025 and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, contribute to deepening reforms, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem.

He added that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. Xi encouraged the establishment and improvement of modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.
