Firefighters Cook Lunch for Earthquake-Affected Villagers in Xizang

It's been over a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake shook Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. The tremor left many residents displaced, and resettlement and reconstruction efforts are ongoing.

At Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, a heartwarming scene unfolds as firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit lend a helping hand beyond their usual duties. Amid the challenging conditions, these dedicated firefighters are preparing lunch for the quake-affected villagers.

Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the frontline to witness the firefighters' efforts firsthand. The team not only assists in emergency response and reconstruction but also ensures that the villagers receive warm meals during this difficult time.

\"We want to do everything we can to support the people here,\" said one of the firefighters. \"Providing meals is just a small part of our contribution, but we hope it brings comfort to the community.\"

Villagers expressed their gratitude for the firefighters' support. \"They have been here since the earthquake happened,\" said a resident of Cuo'ang Village. \"Their help means a lot to us.\"

As reconstruction continues, stories like these highlight the unity and resilience of the people in Xizang. The collaborative efforts between the local residents and the firefighters emphasize the strength of community spirit in the face of adversity.
