Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged to bolster China-Russia relations to address external uncertainties during a video meeting on Tuesday.
President Xi emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient partnership between the two nations. He stated that in 2025, he is ready to work with President Putin to continue guiding China-Russia relations towards greater heights. \"By enhancing the stability and resilience of our relations, we can jointly cope with external uncertainties, promote development and revitalization of our countries, and uphold international fairness and justice,\" Xi said.
He called for deepening strategic cooperation, strengthening mutual support, and safeguarding the legitimate interests of both nations. Xi also urged both sides to consolidate and expand bilateral relations, promoting in-depth practical cooperation.
President Putin echoed these sentiments, noting that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. \"Cooperation between our two countries serves the interests of our peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin added.
During the meeting, the leaders had an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year.
