As China prepares to celebrate the Spring Festival on January 29, President Xi Jinping extended heartfelt greetings to non-Communist Party of China (CPC) members, urging unity and collaboration for the nation’s development.
He addressed leaders of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and personages without party affiliation at an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The event highlighted the importance of solidarity and joint efforts in achieving China’s ambitious goals.
President Xi emphasized the implementation of more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He stressed the focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025 and beyond.
He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and individuals without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country’s overall interests. Leveraging their unique strengths, they can rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to the nation’s progress.
Xi underscored the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He highlighted the ecological significance of the river and its role in the country’s sustainable development.
Moreover, he emphasized that the ACFIC should guide the private sector in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship. By bolstering confidence in development and establishing modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, the private sector can play a vital role in China’s economic landscape.
As the nation ushers in the Lunar New Year, President Xi’s messages of unity, development, and ecological protection set a hopeful tone for China’s future endeavors.
