More than a week has passed since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. The tremor left Cuo’ang Village in Quluo Town with significant damage, and resettlement and reconstruction efforts are still underway.
Amidst these challenging times, the firefighters of the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have joined the frontline efforts. At Cuo’ang Village, they are preparing lunch for the quake-affected villagers, offering not just meals but a sense of care and support.
Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness the dedication of these firefighters. Their efforts provide comfort to the residents as they navigate the aftermath of the earthquake.
The community’s resilience is evident as both villagers and responders work together toward recovery. The firefighters’ gesture highlights the solidarity and compassion that bind the people of Xizang during times of adversity.
