In a gesture of unity and forward momentum, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended warm Spring Festival greetings to non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front on Monday.
Attending an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his festive wishes ahead of the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year. The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, is the most significant traditional festival in China, marking a time of reunion and renewal.
During the event, Xi emphasized the importance of implementing proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies to maintain the country’s socio-economic development momentum in 2025. He highlighted the need to focus on high-quality development and to promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology.
“We must work together to achieve the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan and lay a solid foundation for the next five years,” Xi affirmed. He called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks of the nation, serve the overall interests, and leverage their unique strengths to rally support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength more broadly.
Xi’s address underscores the significance of unity and collaboration among all sectors of society in advancing China’s development goals. By fostering inclusivity and collective effort, the nation aims to achieve substantial progress in scientific innovation and economic growth, paving the way for a prosperous future.
