Beijing, — Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation between the two nations. Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties on Saturday, Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.

In messages exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the profound friendship that binds the two socialist neighbors.

“China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,” Xi stated. He reflected on the longstanding relationship, noting that both nations have “fought side by side and supported each other in their struggle for national independence and liberation.”

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment has elevated the bilateral relations to a new stage, strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries.

As the world experiences unprecedented changes, Xi underscored the importance of China and Vietnam continuing to follow the path of socialism. He stated that this commitment not only impacts the future of both parties and countries but also holds great significance for global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

“China and Vietnam sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of our relations,” Xi remarked. He expressed his willingness to work closely with Vietnamese leaders, leveraging the milestone anniversary and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges to benefit both nations.

Xi called for both countries to “keep in mind the original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization,” aiming to deliver greater benefits to their peoples.
