In messages exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the profound friendship between the two nations. “So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,” Xi remarked, highlighting the strong ties forged over decades of cooperation and mutual support.
Reflecting on the historical journey since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, Xi noted that China and Vietnam have stood side by side in their struggle for national independence and liberation. He underscored that the two countries share the same ideals and pursue a shared future, which is the most striking feature of their bilateral relations.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi affirmed the commitment of both sides to elevate their relations to a new stage. “We pledged to work for a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,” he stated.
