U.S. Congress Certifies Trump Election Victory

In a historic session, the U.S. Congress formally certified Republican President-elect Donald Trump’s November election victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, paving the way for his inauguration on January 20.

The certification process, completed on Monday, confirmed the results from all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The brief but significant ceremony took place during a joint session of the House of Representatives and Senate, presided over by Harris in her capacity as President of the Senate.

Trump secured 312 Electoral College votes to Harris’s 226, reinforcing the preliminary election outcomes. The official certification marks the final step in the electoral process, solidifying Trump’s path to the presidency.
