Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Attend D-8 Summit in Egypt

Tehran – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to attend the upcoming D-8 summit in Egypt, marking a significant step in fostering economic cooperation among major Muslim developing nations. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed the president’s participation during a press briefing on Tuesday.

The summit of the eight-member D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, scheduled for Thursday, brings together Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. The gathering aims to enhance economic ties, promote trade, and strengthen collaborative efforts in various sectors among member countries.

“President Pezeshkian’s attendance underscores Iran’s commitment to deepening economic relations with fellow D-8 nations,” Baghaei stated. “We look forward to fruitful discussions that will pave the way for sustainable development and mutual prosperity.”
