China’s Li Chunjian and Shi Yaolong Achieve Sixth Place in IBSF World Cup Two-Man Bobsleigh

In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, China’s Li Chunjian and Shi Yaolong clinched sixth place in the two-man bobsleigh event at the IBSF World Cup held in Sigulda, Latvia. Competing against a field of 19 pairs, the Chinese duo showcased their prowess on the icy track.

During the first run, Li and Shi clocked a time of 49.81 seconds, positioning themselves in sixth place. Their compatriots, Sun Kaizhi and Ye Jielong, finished closely with a time of 50.20 seconds, securing the 12th spot.

In the second run, Li and Shi maintained their momentum, completing the course in 50.03 seconds. Their combined time of 1 minute and 39.87 seconds solidified their sixth-place finish. Sun and Ye concluded the competition in 13th place, with a total time of 1 minute and 40.80 seconds.

The event was dominated by Germany’s legendary bobsledder Francesco Friedrich, who partnered with Simon Wulff to take first place. The duo finished with a remarkable combined time of 1 minute and 38.68 seconds, marking the 49th two-man bobsleigh World Cup title for the 34-year-old Friedrich.

Li and Shi’s performance reflects the growing strength of China’s presence in winter sports on the global stage. Their achievement in Sigulda adds momentum to China’s bobsleigh ambitions and sets a promising tone for future competitions.
