Studying abroad can be a transformative experience, and for Mexican student Moraima Ordóñez, it has been precisely that. Pursuing a master’s degree in Chinese Law at Peking University, Moraima has been deeply impressed by China’s dedication to balancing economic growth with ecological preservation.
“Seeing firsthand the immense efforts China puts into green development has been inspiring,” Moraima shared. “Projects like the four major hydropower plants on the Jinsha River, the monumental Three Gorges Dam, and the Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project stand as testaments to China’s commitment to sustainable progress.”
These initiatives not only harness renewable energy but also set a benchmark for environmental responsibility. Moraima believes that such endeavors showcase a model that other nations can learn from.
When discussing the collaboration between China and Mexico in green energy, Moraima highlighted the positive impact of Chinese investment in her home country. “China’s investment in clean energy in Mexico has significantly improved our infrastructure,” she noted. “It has alleviated electricity shortages and created numerous job opportunities.”
Inspired by these developments, Moraima envisions herself contributing to the ecological future. “As young people, we have a responsibility to build and protect our environment,” she said. “I hope to be a part of that movement and drive sustainable development forward.”
