Retired Sr. Colonel Zhou Bo: China’s Peaceful Rise and the Unique Role of the PLA

In a recent address, Retired Senior Colonel Zhou Bo emphasized China’s peaceful rise on the global stage, describing it as a “miracle in the world.” He highlighted that China’s development has been characterized by harmony and cooperation, setting it apart in international relations.

“China’s rise is peaceful, and this is the miracle in the world,” Zhou Bo stated. He suggested that another miracle could be the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) distinguishing itself from other militaries by using its force in a peaceful manner. Zhou Bo expressed confidence that the PLA could contribute to making the world a safer, if not better, place.

“The PLA, being different from all other militaries, would actually use its force in such a peaceful manner to make this world much safer, if not better,” he remarked.

Zhou Bo’s insights reflect a perspective that China’s military development is aligned with its commitment to peaceful international engagement. His comments serve to reassure global observers of China’s intentions and highlight the country’s potential to positively influence global security dynamics.
