In the women’s doubles, Yuan Yue of China teamed up with Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia to secure a commanding 6-2, 6-1 victory over Katarzyna Kawa of Poland and Kimberley Zimmermann of Belgium. Yuan and Alexandrova displayed impressive consistency in their serves, allowing them to build solid leads early in both sets and clinch a swift win.
The Chinese duo of Wang Xinyu and Zheng Saisai faced off against their compatriot Wang Xiyu and her Kazakhstani partner Yulia Putintseva. Wang Xinyu and Zheng took the first set 6-2, but Wang Xiyu and Putintseva fought back to take the second set 6-3, leveling the match. In a tense decider, Wang Xinyu and Zheng overcame a 5-2 deficit, breaking serve in the eighth game and ultimately triumphing 7-5.
Guo Hanyu of China, partnering with Alexandra Panova of Russia, also progressed to the second round after defeating Australian pair Taylah Preston and Lizette Cabrera 6-4, 7-6. Guo and Panova have now extended their winning streak to five matches, with Guo reaching the women’s doubles second round for the second consecutive year.
In the men’s doubles, Zhang Zhizhen of China paired with Tomas Machac of the Czech Republic to overcome Guido Andreozzi of Argentina and Theo Arribage of France 7-5, 6-4. Their victory secures them a place in the round of 32.
