Death Toll Rises to 95 After M6.8 Quake Hits Xizang

A devastating magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in the city of Xigaze, located in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday. According to local officials, the death toll has risen to 95 as of 3 p.m. Beijing time.

Another 130 people have been injured in the aftermath of the quake. Rescue teams are diligently working to provide aid to the affected residents, as the region grapples with the impact of the disaster.
