Germany’s seven-time world champion Katharina Schmid has continued her exceptional form in the 2024/25 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season, claiming victory in the women’s normal hill individual event held at the Snow Ruyi hill in Zhangjiakou.
The 28-year-old athlete soared to the top of the podium after two rounds of fierce competition. Each participant completed two jumps, with the top 30 from the first round progressing to the second. Schmid, a two-time Olympic silver medalist, clinched the championship with a total score of 237.0 points.
This triumph marks Schmid’s third individual World Cup podium finish of the season, following a first and second-place finish at the season opener in Lillehammer, Norway. As one of the most decorated skiers in the history of ski jumping, she now boasts a remarkable 17 individual World Cup wins.
